ALL ABOUT A CARSWELL HOLIDAY

Carswell is a family owned working organic dairy farm with lots of cows and a few sheep and some domestic chickens! We put fresh local organic milk in the fridge for your arrival, along with some fair trade tea, coffee and sugar.

We also put a selection of local organic meat, from our Well Hung Meat Co. in the freezer for you to try - just choose what you want and put the money in the honesty box.

The environment here offers the perfect life for children - fresh air, open space and plenty to see that will fire their imaginations. Add the fact that it is only a 15 minute walk to the local beach and you have paradise for every little adventurer!

We have just created a lovely wildflower meadow for children and adults alike to enjoy. Complete with apple trees, a hazel copse, grassy areas, Alice The Tractor and some children's play equipment, it also marks the start of the new farm wildlife trail! The meadow is directly accessible from The Lodge, Shepherd's and Corner Cottages and is just down the lane from Lambside House and The Mews.

I'm afraid we don't have any 'pet' animals and the milking parlour is situated a mile away from the cottages, but you will often have some of our cows in the fields around the cottages and we are happy to give you a tour of the milking process and equipment (Monday to Fridays by prior arrangement and wellies a good idea). Life at the cottages is always very peaceful and there is plenty of wildlife to see, but we do ask that you respect the farm and follow the country code.
