Shepherd's Cottage (sleeps 6)

Just across the lane from The Mews, Shepherd's Cottage is a semi-detached property that was formerly a farm worker's residence as its name suggests. It has been tastefully modernised and offers light and airy accommodation with a comfortable, homely atmosphere and great character.

Downstairs, the living area is open plan and has a lounge area at the front, with chestnut wood flooring from trees on the farm and a wood-burning stove; a kitchen/dining area where the original slate floor slabs combined with units give a true farmhouse feel, and a large utility/shower room at the back with a washer/dryer, shower, toilet and sink.

Upstairs, the master king-sized bedroom has a washbasin and a large sash window with stunning views over the surrounding fields and woodland. There is also a cosy twin room and another slightly smaller room with full size bunk beds. The family bathroom on this floor has a wonderfully old fashioned, deep bath where you can soak away your cares... or just soak your tired and sandy children after a day spent rock pooling on the beach.

The back door leads out into a sunny, secure garden with a patio, garden furniture, barbecue, washing line and fully stocked log shed. There is also an adjoining paddock that is usually available for any games that just cannot be contained.

As well as the woodburner, Shepherd's Cottage is centrally heated and has all the standard facilities that we offer. Bed linen and towels are all provided, as well as tea-towels, bath mats and environmentally friendly cleaning materials. We put delicious organic milk in the fridge for your arrival - with our compliments, along with enough recycled paper toilet rolls, Fair Trade tea, coffee, sugar and local organic herbal tea to get you started!
