Some of South Devon's best beaches

Wadham Beach

The nearest beach to Carswell Farm Cottages, accessed by a short walk along the South West Coast Path. A secluded beach, good for swimming.

The Blue Lagoon

Our own private cove, just off the South West Coast Path near St Anchorite’s Rock. Access is via a padlocked gate, exclusively for Carswell Cottage guests.

Mothecombe (Meadowsfoot Beach)

Reached in a few minutes by car or by a 1 hour walk along the coast path, with 150 acres of sand at low tide. Visitors can also wade across the River Erme to neighbouring Wonwell Beach.

Bigbury-On-Sea

A popular beach for families, with rock pools and a great expanse of sand at low tide which creates a causeway to historic Burgh Island. Lifeguards, beach cafe & water sports available.

Bantham

One of the most popular beaches in the area, located across the River Avon from Bigbury-On-Sea. Fantastic surf and a great expanse of sand at low tide.

Wembury

A family-friendly beach near Plymouth with a National Trust car park, clean waters, plenty of sand and lots of rockpools for children to explore.

Above are just a few of the best beaches near Carswell Farm but there are many more fantastic options to discover nearby, many with facilities including toilets and dining options. These include Bovisand, Challaborough, Thurlestone, Hope Cove, Slapton Sands and Blackpool Sands.
